The Hub was founded in 2020 by Pieter Meulendijk-de Mol and Yasha Vojdani who have a combined +30 years of experience in providing commercial, strategic, financial and economic advice across the transport sector.
Since our inception, we have delivered projects in the UK, Europe, Australia and across the globe and have advised over 30 public and private sector clients on over 100 projects. We are driven by collaboration with our clients, business partners and colleagues to address the industry’s toughest challenges.

Co-founder & Director
Pieter is a transport and infrastructure advisor with 15 years’ experience in (project) finance and commercial and technical due diligence. Pieter has experience leading projects globally, supporting public and private sector clients taking investment decisions and executing transactions, leading complex multidisciplinary teams. Pieter has extensive experience in investment and transaction advisory, business case structuring and PPPs in various sectors (including rail, public transport, highways, ports and natural resources).
Pieter works with private and public investors and financiers, governments and project developers. Moreover, Pieter is an evaluator on the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 European Innovation Council (EIC) programme.
Co-founder & Director
Yasha is a management consultant with over 15 years of experience across the global transport sector including rail, aviation, urban transport, and technology markets. Specialising in strategic, commercial and economic advisory, Yasha brings a comprehensive skill set to deliver evidence-based solutions to complex problems. His project experience includes delivering complex transformation, commercial due diligence, supporting government procurement and private sector bidding, as well as customer experience design (including pricing and ticketing). He is a Chartered Management Consultant recognised for delivering tough projects in complex environments. As a commercially minded leader, Yasha has a track record of driving growth in organisations and as well as advising senior executives from both public and private sectors on transformative projects that shape the future of the transport industry.
Director
As a previous board director, Kelly is a dynamic management consultant and executive coach with 24 years experience within the transport market. Specialising in transformation advisory, Kelly is exceptionally skilled in providing client solutions to develop and deliver intricate change programmes. Her project experience includes operating model design, delivering complex mobilisations, leadership development with senior teams, HR due diligence, supporting government procurement and private sector bidding, as well as people and culture strategy design and implementation. She is a Chartered Human Resources Professional and Accredited Executive Coach recognised for her exceptional interpersonal skills, candid style and pragmatic approach. As an emotionally intelligent senior leader, Kelly has a track record of working with her clients to deliver high quality outputs, leading complex bids, improving performance in organisations and enabling sustainable change delivered through collaboration.
Director
Ben is a long-standing Project Sponsor, Project Manager and Management Consultant with international expertise in the procurement of passenger transport investments and an excellent record of success in the development and delivery of large-scale, innovative, high capital investment and service projects across the transport sector. He possesses excellent personal communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, using a non-confrontational and enthusiastic approach to bring leadership to initiatives. Ben has the proven ability to formulate and champion a strategic, client-side overview in the development of commercial solutions from initial problem identification to fully developed feasible and bankable solutions. He is recognised as able to employ analytical, logical, and intuitive decision making as required, bringing the same skills to due diligence assignments.
Associate Director
Diem is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer, Project Manager and Management Consultant with 11 years of international experience in railways and mass transit. She specialises in technical and commercial due diligence for Mergers & Acquisitions, valuation and rolling stock investment in the UK and Europe. Diem has also worked in various technical, project management and commercial roles at all stages of rolling stock project life cycle from tender, design, manufacturing, commissioning, and maintenance support. Diem is an astute problem solver with a solid understanding of the railway industry and drive to deliver success. Diem possesses excellent inter-personal communication, facilitation and presentation skills. She is recognised as able to combine these soft skills with the solid technical background and her analytical and logical approach along with intuitive decision making to deliver success.
Principal Consultant
Tom has worked in the rail market as a management consultant for eight years. His experience encompasses a range of strategic and economic advisory roles, including business case development, commercial advisory and business planning. An analytical mindset coupled with extensive exposure to commercial rail projects positions Tom is an industry specialist in demand, revenue, cost, and economic modelling and bid evaluation. He leads projects for high-profile clients globally with a focus on generating value-adding insight. By working collaboratively with public and private sector clients, Tom effectively manages projects and programmes whilst meeting the complex requirements of senior stakeholders.
Senior Consultant
Luke is an experienced management consultant with a deep and extensive knowledge of the rail industry. He is a technical advisor across commercial, strategic and economic projects, focussing on rail operations and business planning. Luke is also experienced in commercial modelling, timetabling and performance analysis, rolling stock strategy and due diligence. Luke’s adaptability across wide-ranging capabilities and diverse clients, coupled with his personable approach, consistently produces successful outcomes on both domestic and international industry-shaping projects. By combining strong project management skills with a deep understanding of railway operations and the industry landscape, Luke advises both public and private sector clients in delivering transformative changes. Clients value his analytical abilities and strategic mindset when tackling complex problems.
Senior Consultant
Aishwarya has diverse experience across the transport sector as an experienced management consultant focussing on strategic, commercial, and economic advisory. She specialises in modelling and data analytics, and has supported domestic and international clients through the creation of economic demand and revenue, and commercial cost models. Aishwarya’s skillset and experience also encompasses due diligence, business transformations and organisational development, delivering mobilisations, business cases and project management. Notably, she has played key roles in significant initiatives around transformational change for high-profile clients. With her analytical capability that is coupled with a drive for delivering evidence-based solutions, Aishwarya produces value adding outputs, creating impact for the transport sector. As an innovative problem solver, she tackles the toughest challenges with a strategic and logical mindset, consistently achieving exceptional outcomes for her clients.
Consultant
Travis is an experienced transport consultant with expertise in commercial and strategic planning. He has worked for a range of clients, including public sector entities and financial institutions within the UK and internationally. Travis’ capabilities include analysis framework development for transport networks, travel behaviour analysis, project management, demand forecasting and cost modelling. Travis has utilised these capabilities to produce high quality outputs, including commercial due diligence strategic transport reports. Travis is a highly driven individual who is skilled in blending qualitative and quantitative approaches to develop novel solutions to critical transport issues.
Senior Board Advisor & Associate Consultant
Tim brings to The Hub director-level experience from over 25 years in engineering consulting and 20 years in management consulting gained on mandates in the UK, Europe and across the globe. He contributes the dual roles of strategic advisor to The Hub’s leadership team and specialist consultant and peer reviewer on our client engagements. As a strategy and commercial advisor, he has a background advising clients on transport infrastructure development, rail franchising, LRT/Metro concessions, public private partnerships and investment in assets including rolling stock. Formerly Director Transaction at a major consulting firm, he supports commercial and technical due diligence and other strategy assignments.
Senior Board Advisor
Rufus supports The Hub’s leadership team as a senior advisor bringing experience of launching consultancy businesses in the transport sector and a strong contribution in executive development. He has worked both government and private side in 12 years of consulting in the UK and overseas and for 20 years before that worked across the UK Rail Sector in commercial, operational and project roles.
