Commercial Due Diligence Advisor For Procurement Of New Fleet in Germany

Rock Rail commissioned The Hub to conduct commercial due diligence on the acquisition of a fleet of 16 x 3-car and 19 x 4-car Siemens Mireo EMUs. The trains will be leased to DB Regio, who have been awarded a 15-year concession contract to operate Elektronetz Nord-Magdeberg (ENORM) services by Nahverkehrsservice Sachsen-Anhalt GmbH (NASA) in Saxony-Anhalt, Middle Germany.

The fleet represents another successful investment by Rock, in collaboration with Infracapital and MEAG, supporting Germany’s ambition to develop an inclusive, efficient, and climate-conscious public transport system through the introduction of a state-of-the-art fleet. This procurement aligns with the state’s strategy to meet Germany’s 2050 objective of reducing greenhouse gas emissions from transport by 80-95%, by delivering high-capacity, appealing public transport options that promote modal shift. The transition from a fragmented ENORM service offering to a unified, high-quality fleet with modern amenities supports the state’s ambitions and enhances the attractiveness of public transport within the region.

Pieter Meulendijk-de Mol, Director commented “We are proud to have partnered with Rock once again, supporting another successful transaction. Building on our global experience in rolling stock procurements, we remain uniquely positioned to deliver exceptional support for complex deals, while continuing to grow and strengthen our team.”
